Environmental scan summary

The Knowledge and Implementation Hub (The Hub) team undertook an environmental scan to find high-quality Australian educational tools and resources for aged care service providers and care workers on clinical governance. Structured searches using the advanced search version of Google took place between March to April 2023 to find webpages, information sheets, toolkits, posters, podcasts, and other resources originating from Australia. Relevant organisational websites were searched and an Evidence Advisory Group, formed to guide the topic content, provided additional suggestions for resources.

Google searches returned a total of 37 resources on clinical governance for aged care in Australia. These resources are in a mix of formats, including reports, podcasts, posters, toolkits, and guidance. They focus on topics such as why clinical governance is important, how to meet governance obligations, examples of existing frameworks, and practical tools and advice for establishing a clinical governance framework within an organisation.

These resources are now available in the resources section of the Hub. The Hub team will repeat the scan process at scheduled intervals to ensure the resource content for clinical governance in aged care remains up to date.
