Case Studies

First Nations themed case studies

Our themed case studies are developed using a range of methods. These include interviews with First Nations workers and providers, case studies published by others or a combination of both.

Each theme includes key messages, background information, sector examples, implementation considerations and selected resources. Together, they support providers, leaders and workers to reflect on practice and strengthen culturally safe, high-quality care for First Nations older people.

Within each theme, individual case studies, highlight practical examples of culturally safe care and workforce capability building in action. They share insights into service design and delivery, including what helped, what proved challenging and what others from across the sector can learn.

We currently have four themes containing eleven individual case studies. Explore the themed case studies below to see the different approaches, experiences and lessons from across the health and aged care sector.

Themed case studies coming soon in 2026: Leadership; recruitment and retention.
