Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People (First Nations) searches

The First Nations searches cover aspects relevant to the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across health and care settings in metropolitan, rural and remote locations.

The searches are based on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander search filter developed by Flinders Filters which has been specifically designed to capture the most relevant data to Indigenous Australians.

Use evidence with cultural care

Published research is useful, but it is not the whole story. Luke et al. remind us that evidence-based practice in First Nations health and social settings should be Aboriginal-led, culturally informed and grounded in community knowledge.
